Tonight I was at a choir practice, and during the break I went to the nearest bathroom. There were three stalls and people were in two, and there was one girl waiting but she wasn't going into the empty one. I figured it was one of the usual messes and asked if someone couldn't just go in and flush without looking too closely, but she said, "No, it's going to take a lot more than flushing to clean that up. It's gross. I think someonev*d in there."

"Aww," I said, and when it was my turn I went and then washed my hands really well, even though I was two stalls away. But afterwards I went to another washroom down the hall to wash my hands again, because I had touched the door on my way out...I just felt really crazy and paranoid about germs that could be in the air (they had one of those awful air hand dryers, so I didn't use it) or on things in the room. And I was going to wash my apple and eat it, but I just felt really contaminated for some reason, so I didn't. I haven't been very picky about germs in a long time - only ones that could maybe make me v*!

Do you think I could have picked anything up?? I think I just need some reassurance

I highly doubt you could have picked up anything. You washed your hands after, which is the first line of defence against germs. You can only speculate as to why this person was ill, and I wouldn't even give it another thought, even though it's difficultnot to.

Your safe, and you are going to be okay. Just keep a good handwashing routine.

    Hugs.

It could have been someone who was pregnant or anything. Don;t worry. What I think is weird is that someone V*'d and didn't flush. Kids poop and don't flush, but who would V* and not flush? What...did they forget they did it? YUCK!!! I doubt it was V*...maybe it was poop with toilet paper that had sat for a while since no one wanted to go in the stall.

I am like you, I worry so about the bathrooms places, but you can't live without using toilets. Sorry that happened to you...it makes great simple moments turn into days of freaking out.

eww, sorry you had to experience that, pianolover! I don't think you would have caught anything - you washed your hands twice, so you've been as careful as you can.

Y'know, I just don't get people these days. Like gubba said, who v*s and doesn't flush? Someone who's that ill shouldn't be out and about...I just don't get it.

You're gonna be just fine! ^_^ Just try not to panic, and just relax, you have nothing to worry about

gubba, eew, thanks for the visiual (jk).

Pianolover, yuck, that stinks. But I'm sure that you didn't catch anything. Just wash your hands after taking your shoes off. (I do), especially if I've been in a public restroom. That's where the real germs are.

Thanks guys, of course I am fine as usual!! Just one of those things I can't help thinking and worrying about once it's happened. Thank you for the reassurance! You're all awesome!
