I believe there are ghosts! Or at least, some supernatural presence that's both unexplainable and confusing to us. I love Halloween, and this 31st I'm going to a real haunted house. Or at least... that's what they say: http://www.whaleyhouse.org/

Those pictures are spooky, particularly the one with the clinic.

So I went to Spider Gates Cemetary a few times. It took us forever to find it, because it is rumored tobe located in Worcester, MA, BUT IT'S NOT, it is actually in Leceister, but is in the resevoir area between:Worcester, Paxton, and Leceister. It's kind of off route 9 near the Wrocester airport. Anyway, I went a few times during the day and we finally met a kid willing to take us there. (we were young and stupid, but the kid was our age, so we trusted him). Either way, by the time we got there it was dusk. It brought our cameras, and brave faces. We took lots of pictures and got thousands of orbs (and i REALIZE that they can be created by dust being hit by light), however it was strange b/c they would only show up sometimes, not not on others.

The cemetary is a private one that was owned by the Quaker friends society (or something like that; it has come to my attention that it has since changed ownership).

Anyways, it is rumored that there are 8 gates to pass through, and with each one the creepier things that are supposed to happen. We only found 2 gates (but we've always been unsure if we went through the entrance or the back way.) If you look it up online you can find all kind of creepy things about it. However, it's rumored that people have been murdered there and left there. And that people have had discussions w/ people that have vanished into thin air.

When we went there, we found an abandoned house tupe thing, and the hangman's tree. When it was dark out, you could hear really ominous noises (and I live near the woods, and I've been camping in the woods and I never heard anything like these before). The trees were shaking REALLY INTENTENSELY! And it looked as if you could see figures through the trees and hear breathing (that wasn't ours). We finally fled when it sounded like someone whacked a tree as hard as they could w/ a bat. It was INCREDIBLY loud!!! The worse part was the romp back because you have to cross a small brook bridge, and it's dark, and you are stil hearing all these things around you. (It reminded me of the scene in the Stephen Kind movie "IT" when IT is out in the water hanging off a branch (yeah, that's what this place looked like). SO we enetered freakout mode a little more. By the time we got out, you couldn't hear a thing. It was as if everything in the forrest was dead. It was so creepy,(yet thrilling)and I haven't gone back since. Up until then I didn't really believe in paranormal activity, but I am a believer now. You just get this feeling, and you feel tingly... I couldn't really explain it, but OH MAN, never again.)

I have a ghost story. I think I saw a ghost once. So, if you believe in
ghosts, keep reading, if you don't, don't keep reading because you'll
think I'm nuts.

I was like 13 years old and I used to go jogging a lot. I live on a
winding narrow road with a few really big old houses. Anyway, I was
going for a jog down the hill and just minding my own business and I
looked into one of the houses's windows. It was about 5:00 so it was
starting to get dark out. I looked in the window and all the lights
were off inside. I saw a figure in the window. I thought it was a dog,
but it COULD NOT have been because of the way it moved. it was all
black, like a shadow, that moved up very smoothly and slowly into view
in the window and then very slowly and smoothly down below the window
until i couldnt see it anymore. It was black like a shadow, like I
said, but it had glowing yellow eyes. It could not have been a dog
because of the way it almost floated from belwo the window and back
down, and could not have been a shadow because of the yellow eyes.

I will vow until the day I die that I saw everythng I just told you,
and that it was a ghost. It could have been nothing other than that.
Call me crazy, whatever, but I definitely saw a ghost that night. I
will never ever ever ever forget it - I can still see it in my mind
right now.

just thought I'd share that.

One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure its worth watching.

Woohoo Sparky! I am SO Glad you started this topic! I absolutely LOVE Halloween..I love scary and spooky things! And Yes I DO beleive in ghosts and yes I do have a story!!!

WE use to live in a haunted house! So many bizarre things happened there! I didnt have any "ghostbusters" come to my house and tell me it was haunted..we just assumed it was from all the strange happenings!

First of all...the biggest thing I can remember about this house was that my mom always woke up in the morning saying she always feels someone getting into her bed! When in actuality...no one was there! She said it happened at the same time..everyday...

She also had a door in her room that led to the attic. And one night while she was in her room...the (locked) attic door flew open and a suitcase came flying out! WE had all wooden floors in this house...and you could always hear footsteps when no one else was in the room it was coming from!

Televisions and radios always turned on by themselves! IT scared the hell out you! the tv would turn on all of a sudden out of nowhere! Lights went on and off by themselves.

We actually took some pictures and found some really interesting thigns in them! I wish I couldpost them here...but I dont know how to. But it looked like a face of a man in atleast 4 differnet photos! It was the creepiest thing ever!

We were always feeling sick in that house! It just held a really negative atmosphere. It was just a really creepy place!

We wanted to do some research on the house to see if anyone had died there. My moms second husband died suddenly at that house outside in the backyard. Maybe it could have been him? She didnt stay long enough to find out! she has since then moved into a hew house. she has beenthere for about 3 years now...and just the other day she told me...."HE'S BACK" and I was like who>???? And she goes..our ghost! she said she feels someone getting into bed again with her! Maybe it followed her????

You know, I never believed in that stuff-photos with ghosts in themI mean. But 2 years ago, My husband had a dream about his grandfather (who was native Canadian indian)who had passed on years before. He had a dream that he was on his grandfather's land and that his grandfather was very unhappy that other people were living there. Well, my husband felt compelled to make the 3-4 hour trek to New Hampshire and he went one day that he had off. He told me he was happy to see that one of the totem pole his grandfather had made was still partially standing and he took some photos and video footage with our new camera. Well, the video was all messed up-yet the footage we had taken just before (on the same tape)was fine. I developed the pictures and only ONE of those New Hampshire photos came out, while other vacation picture we had taken were fine. The one photo was of the totem pole.

nope// still there. .. I'm going to see if the site allows me to post. It keeps saying that I've exceeded my posts in this time frame... but I haven't even been on here the past few days. I had a Halloween Party, and we went to Salem last night.. (what a night, I'll go to general discussion later.) I hope this works.

Obviously something going on with the site - think bexcelica has been having a lot of probs aswell. It's been down for last few hours too. Finally able to get on again and see my posts from this morning haven't disapppeared so I'll repeat what I wrote yesterday and hope it doesn't disappear again!

I've enjoyed reading all your spooky tales and those ghost photos are great. I find this subject so interesting. I've had a few strange things happen to me over the years, which I posted a while ago on one of the ghost newsgroups, so to save me re-typing my experiences out again I've copied my post from there and pasted below....

My first strange encounter was when I was about 12/13 years old. One of my
friend's and I were about to go on a camping trip, so decided to have a
practise run in her back garden. She lived in an oldish large detached
house (prob built around 1890's), where she and other family members had
experienced strange goings on. They would often hear someone downstairs in
the kitchen, whilst they were in bed, stirring a cup of tea/coffee or
whatever. And chairs would move from one side of the room to another whilst
they were out the room. Anyhow, back to the evening of camping - all was
fine, my friend and I got tucked up in our sleeping bags and chatted away
until the early hours. Her parents and older sister had gone to bed hours
before so all was quiet. As I settled down to go to sleep, someone tugged
my pillow sharply from under me, I had my back to my friend, so turned over
to tell her to stop messing about. She, however was tucked up in her
sleeping bag at the other side of the tent, back towards me, (this was one
of those large tents that sleeps a big family and she couldn't reach me from
where she was without getting out of her sleeping bag). I still asked her
if she had tugged at my pillow and she said she hadn't. Well this was the
beginning of strange goings on all night. We heard footsteps on gravel
outside and the garden had no gravel, and a miriad of other strange noises,
we also smelled cigarette smoke. The garden was very private and had a very
secure gate, so nobody could have got in and we would have heard any of the
family members come outside, anyhow they were not the people for playing
practical jokes, very far from it! My friend, insisted on going and
investigating the whole garden, but I, being a tad scared and a bit of a
coward, stayed by the tent! She found nothing. It was a very strange night
indeed.

Another strange occurance was when I was staying at my then boyfriend's
house. I was dog sitting and staying over. He left for work, as usual at
6.30 am, and at around 8.00 am I was just deciding to get up. The dog was
asleep on the end of the bed. Then I heard someone coming up the stairs,
the dog woke up too and was waiting to see who had come in. I shouted out,
"What are you doing back home?", but got no reply. There was nobody there!
I couldn't work it out, the dog couldn't work it out... A few months later
my ex-boyfriend's daughter was in the house alone and came round to my flat
(just around the corner) looking as pale as anything. Something had really
spooked her in the house. She had heard somebody coming down the stairs...
She refused to be alone there after that. We eventually got used to hearing
the noises on the stairs, funny it only happened in that spot.

Hope I'm not boring you too much, but just have to share this experience
with you! A few years ago I lived alone in a flat that had a few odd
happenings. It started when I began hearing voices just after I had gone to
bed. They were not muffled voices that I was used to coming from the
neighbours, but very crisp, close sounds. But they ha
