hi, if you are in the uk, you can get motilium over the counter in boots, can't remember how much it is - maybe a fiver for 10? i found it works quite well, i'm still a little unsure if it's a proper anti-emetic but it does make food etc move through your stomach and is used for the treatment of nausea. i found it works if i feel ill. sorry it's a ramble!!

Thank you, you werent rambling, you were very helpful. Im just worried that some things will make me drowsy. Anyway ill go and ask my chemist. Would i have to go to my doctor for other medications?
Thanks again Willow2

congrats!!! does anyone know of anything in the us?
One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure its worth watching.
The only thing around canada that I know of is Gravol. Only problem is that it makes you really drowsy. I have always related drowsiness with dizziness and dizziness with v* so don't take it myself. I have this thing of looking up side effects of medication and all of them have v* as a possible side effect, even the meds that are supposed to cure it....
Hi Racheal,
Sorry I haven't been on the site for a few days. That's brilliant that you passed your test and I am so glad that the motilium worked for you. I don't actually take it that often but I ALWAYS have it with me!!!
Congrats on passing your test and hope you enjoy driving around now - do you havea car?

motilium is avalible over the counter? :S i got perscribed it to stop me feeling / being sick on other drugs. It works very very well.
The drug is basically domperidone (sp?) which does two things-
1. emptys the stomach faster so theres less food in it.
2. blocks signals from the stomach to the vomit center in the brain, to stop the vomit reflex thingy from happening.
Its good for that horrible too full feeling when youve eaten too much too.
Its made my day finding out you can actually buy the stuff lol.. ive been afraid that my doctors going to stop perscribing it and itsthe only thing keeping me sane!

Hi Katrina, I dont have a car yet...but i am insured on my mums car so i candrive about in that whenever its freeI would love a old mini though.
Im going to have a pack of motilium with me wherever i go now too. I dont think ill take it much either but its so nice to have a last resort. Very, very comforting. I know that i wouldn't have been half as calm during my test if i hadnt had it with me.
Thanks for your advice, and Eternity, im glad you found out that you could get i over the counter, it must be such a relief.

In the US, there's something called Emetrol. I have a bottle but
haven't used it. I should put it in a glass case with a sign "For
emergencies, break glass".
yer we hav emetrol in aus too.. i used it once when i was extremely
hungover and needing to v* but i wudnt let myself.. i just wanted the
nausea to go away... i was at my firends house (where the party had
been) and my anti-emetic drugs (stemitil) was at home.. so my friends
boyf went to the chemist and got me some emetrol.. i downed the whole
bottle (not at once, i followed the directions!) however it didnt work
one bit! anyone else not had good results from this stuf? <!--
