    Hiya everyone,

I have been home from uni this weekend and was really looking forward to seeing my boyfreind as it had been a while since i had seen him. He has had what he calls flu and has been quite ill and had nausea but not v*. Today he said he felt better and asked if i wanted to see him. I told him i was worrying about catching it. Im not worried that it will make me sick, but im worried because i go back to uni tonight and i cant get ill. If i get ill and miss my laboratory sessions this week, i loose 5% of my final grade for each one missed and i have 4 on monday and tuesday! He understands and has agreed its best i dont see him just in case. I feel like the worst girlfreind ever, i love him more than anything and i cant even look after him when his ill :'( We have been together a long time and im used to seeing him all the time, now im away at uni its realy hard and i miss him so much

My question to you all is, how long do you think he would be contagious for(if he is at all). I might be coming home againon weds or thurs because i have no sessions for the rest of the week and i really want to see him, but i really cant risk missing any practical sessions. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm...it's hard to say since you say he hasn't actually v*. It depends what he's sick with. If it's just a virus, the general rule of thumb is that they aren't contagious 48 hours after last symptoms (d*, v*, etc.) But since you don't know what it is, it's hard to say. I would think you would be fine by Thursday if he has been feeling ok for a couple of days. Besides, you have probably been exposed to more germs at school that you will when you are around him just because you are aware and will be more conscientious about handwashing and that sort of thing. You're probably just as likely if not more likely to catch something from somebody at school than you are from him. Well, I suppose though it matters what you plan on doing when you see him *giggle*
