Just wondering how you are doing, Karen. Did you make it through the weekend so far? Hang in there. How is your son? How are you and your other little one doing?

I was on msn with her the other night. She seemed ok, she is feeling better. She was calling to make an appt. with the doctor for her son.
Hello everyone.
I want to thank you all for thinking of me. I really do feel like I have some true friends on here.
Right, the doctor gave my son some medicine. Reading the leaflet it says it is for stomach cramps. Well, he doesn't have any. It relaxes the stomach muscles. It isn't going to help if he has a bug in his stomach. Anyway, as I was here with my niece at the weekend I decided NOT to give him the medicine incase it made him v*. I couldn't bring myself to give it to him!
He didn't complain once of feeling S* yesterday or today!!!!! His poos are still a bit funny and they smell like a bonfire. Sorry to be graphic but that is how they are. I really do think it is something to do with the water he has been drinking at nursery. The doctor said that it would be interesting to get it tested. I am going to send to nursery with bottled water. If he is then okay I will get the water tested. Like I said, they give him a cup and send him into the bathroom to fill it up. There are about 12 sinks in there and only one of them has a drinking tap. If he isnt watched he probably goes to one of the other taps instead of the drinking one. The others are from a tank and he could catch anything from that.
Sleep, well, I was so tired and he seemed so okay last night that I slept in my own bed with my niece next to me. My son came in about 3.30am and I STAYED IN BED!!!!!! First time ina long time. She slept in the bed with me incase I needed to get out. That way my son would feel someone in the bed and hopefully think it was me. My daughter didnt wake up once and she is only 3 months old so I got a really good nights sleep. Shame I didnt go to bed until 1am.
Now it is Sunday. My other half is here so I am safe if anything happens. I will probably get out of bed tonight though when he comes in as he is okay with his daddy there.
So, the weekend didnt go too bad. I really was nervous and I'm already planning ahead for next weekend. Petrified already.
I will be phoning the psyciatrist again this week and tell her about how I was feeling on Thursday and to see if she has managed to get me in to the group therapy sessions.
Thanks again for thinking of me and my family. I feel like I have an extended family in all of you. You are all so great.
Hope you are all doing well and getting on top of things.
Speak to you all soon.
Love
Karen xxx
There is no distance on this earth as far away as yesterday
I am so happy for you. We slept well here last night for the first time in5 days since my son's cough started. He is better as well.
Karen, There is no bug in him, it is either water or something at the nursery. They need to get him his water...My son would never remember which one of 12 sinks is o.k. and why are they getting water from a bathroom sink?

Karen, I wouldn't even risk allowing your son to get water at the nursery. I would send him w/ water or a portable drink (juice box, etc...). I'm glad to hear that you all did well this weekend. Don't worry about next weekend, just live in the moment today.
Friendship is like pee in your pants.... everyone can see it.... but only YOU can feel it\'s true warmth...
I am so glad to hear that everything was fine, and congratulations for staying in the bed even when he came into it! That was a great step, and you should feel really proud!
I agree with the nursery water thing, I am in high school and I know which water is okay, but even I carry bottled water with me, because I don't trust the drinking water fountain or the tap water. I would just make sure that he has his own drink with him from home, and make sure you tell the teacher that he is to drink that one drink that you gave him. Good luck!

Firstly, Karen, I am soooooooooooooo glad you had a good weekend. I am so proud of you that you stayed in bed. That probably made him feel so secure. Pat yourself on the back!
Second, sometimes I can be kind of a bear when it comes to kids, but if it is the water (and it sounds like it is), that is just awful! I don't know what system your local government has in place, or how the nursery school is licensed, but if that happened at my son's school (he is 3 as well), I would call the Health Department. They should not be allowed to even have water that runs that isn't fit for drinking.
Do you feel like your medication is helping? Are you still taking it?
Ok, I'm a dork but I am over here an ocean away crying happy tears for you! You did it! You are a great mom!!!!!
