when the actual stone was discovered, how long did you have to wait to be treated? I'm waiting for an ultrasound appointment which will be on the 2nd of November and if they discover one will I need to wait much longer until something is done about it?

This question particularly goes out to those who have been treated by the NHS of the UK. I know waiting lists are long... would you be placed on ANOTHER waiting list for an operation to take stone/gallbladder out?

I've been waiting so long just for the ultrasound with lot of pain and discomfort everyday and the prospect of having to wait MORE for an operation is daunting!

I had a gallbladder problem while I was pregnant and waited till he was born and 11 weeks old to have the surgery. When he was 8 weeks old, I almost passed out from the pain of that gallstone and I went for the ultrasound the next day...I'm in the US and I know that doesn't help you. I did wait a few weeks to get my gallbladder out and fro those 3 weeks, I ate absolutely NO FAT. i checked fat grams on everything and ate less than 5 a day. Fat is what causes the stones to hurt so much since your gallbladder filters fats and that stone is stuck in there.

I hate that you hurt and must wait. till then, drink lots of fluids and no fat.

But even when I don't eat, like when I wake up in the morning, I have pain in my stomach and gall bladder area... I eat very low fat foods... how is like rice and pasta with abit of tomotoes? I eat that and get pain. Its not extremly bad pain, but theres pain and my stomach feels bloated and I feel sick for a while.I seriously don't know what to eat... the only foods I can think of that doesn't have fats is like fruits and vegetables... and fish? But It doesn't fill me up!

My diet is mainly composed of bready wheatyfoods... that doesn't have much fat does it? But still I get pain. Plus my stools have been a very light colour for 2 months now... I don't know if thats an indicator to how bad my situation is because I haven't heard many mention that symptom much when refering to having gallstones... most people complain of excruciating pain.

Anyway amongst those questions I'd still like to hear what you all have to say about my original question aswell if thats okay...
