Remember, little kids v* all the time, even when they don't have a sv. Just keep your hands clean, and keep them away from your face, that is all you can do, and as long as you practice good hygene, there is a strong possibilty that you will not catch anything. plus, iif they had a sv, I doubt they would feel like eating lunch, or anything for that matter, and just cause someone says there stomach is bothering them, doesn't mean they are going to v*, it could mean d*. Please try no to worry, I know it's difficult, but worring will make you feel worse.

From what I remember, you are working with children with behavior problems, right? Sometimes children like that may *v* when they are particularly upset or they may even do it for attention. I seriously doubt either of them had a sv and you are going to be fine. I think you are handling this job very well--you should be proud of yourself!

Hope you feel better!

thanks michelle. the kids arent young though.. .theyre in 8th grade. which i mean is young, but not young like they get sick all the time. one of them said it was a migraine. i think i questioned him a bit too much and now i look like a jerk, but you know how us emets get.

the thing that bothered me the most is my parents kinda got mad at me when i mentioned it. they dont know what its like. yea so they have problems too but they DONT KNOW WHAT ITS LIKE. and they NEVER will. EVER EVER EVER. so that is what bothered me the most.

i am leaving my house and going to my friend kellys for a while. hopefully i will calm down. thanks michelle. so you think i will be okay and wont get it?

thanks jess. one of the kids v* right after we were restraining another kid. the teacher said that he wanted to v* too because of the whole restraint. i dont see how that could make someone v* though. 2 kids in the same class? i dont know. i really hate this and i wish i was someone else right about now. or no one at all. i hate this so f*ing much.

I agreee with Jess, you should be proud of the work you are doing, cause I'm sure its tough. I wasn't aware that the kids had behavioral problems, and what Jess said is probably right, if they get to upset or excited, v* might happen, and they might do it for attention to. Please try not to worry, it doesn't sound like a sv at all.

I think Jess hit it right on! I'm sorry about your parents, mine are the same, but my fiance is supportive. If I think I've been in an environment where people have had something contagious that I may get, I wash my clothes, and shower.. (well duh) and so forth, but I'm sure you'll be fine. Keep up the good work.

Bex, I work in the juvenile court system, so I work with tons of kids who have behavior problems, and some of them (I can think of two offhand) do make themselves v* as a manipulative technique. Sometimes it's not always what you think.

this, God forbid they have to deal with it, I live with it every day of
my life. And so do you guys. Do you know what I mean...?

That just made me remember a time once when I was in 3rd grade. A friend of mine pulled me into the bathroom and made me watch her stick her finger down her throat so that she would vomit. She told me to do it next so that we could go home together. (my mom was living at her house, and she thought this way we could play all day). Needless to say.. I did not do it, but she did get to go home Kids are weird.

Yea kids are weird. This one kid said he had a headache and had his
head ont he desk all day., Then he got up after restraint #2 and said
he was going to bed sick. One of the teachers said she heard him v* in
the bathroom, and he said it was all phlem... sorry to be gross. He got
sick again later on and said it was all water. but he ate lunch and was
talking laughing carriying on at the end of the day. The other kid ran
into the bathroom a couple minutes later. I didn't hear him v* and was
standing right outside the door. I don't know if he really did or not,
he looked sick when he walked out. But then later on he was outside
playing gym and I asked him if he felt better and he said he was fine.

I don't know if these kids are sick sick or just in the head sick:/ I am so crazy I think I shoudlbe in that school.

Later on the secretary said she was quiet today because her stomache
has been bothering her all day today and yesterday. She said that she
thinks she may have gotten a "touch of the virus that's going around"
which was music to my ears (or not). Why do people say that... a touch
of a bug or a touch of a virus... thats going around. I HATE THAT.
sorry I just needed to get this out. What do you guys think? Thanks for
listening again.

Hi Bex,

I work in a school, too, and I hate those words, "it's going around." I try not to hear them! But, I also wanted to tell you that I started a new part time job working with a group of kids whose parents are in a child abuse prevention support group. Needless to say, many of them have behavior issues and on the interview before I even started, I was told that there has been an issue for a few weeks where they have found V* in the bathroom and no one will admit to doing it! It's a manipulative thing that one of the kids was doing. So, kids like that definitely do that for reasons other than being sick! He said the new rule is no one goes to the bathroom without an adult! I don't want to ever be that adult!!

Hope everything's okay....

Thanks Mary. You guys are the best. But now my stomache feels off. And
I don't even want to admit it because I feel like if I admit it, I will
get sick. So I feel as though I have jinxed myself. I don't know I am
going to go to bed I think, and pray and wait. ha.

Wow...i don't think i could work with all those kids...you are so brave. i worry about the one I have and you are around tons of them.

It sounds a little weird that 2 kids in the same class got sick and I can tell you this, when my son is sick, he does not eat lunch and he's not a laughing smiling kid. he is very tired, weak and lays around.

you'll be fine...i don't think they had and SV

Feel better and sleep good...this is early for youto go to bed. aren't you always up late???

Hey...you did great! I did a practicum for college in a middle school with kids who had behavioral/emotional/physical disabilities. I also worked at an institution that is here (they are trying to phase it out, which is HUGE contraversy, but that would be so long to tell it). There were alot of 'clients' both in "wards" (hard to describe) and in group homes that used v* as a manipulation technique, or they just had stomach problems that flared up.

What you are doing is so amazing, keep your chin up, your hands clean, and do the thing you do best....teach!

PS...did you see "Extreme Home Makeover" Sunday??? OMG! You would have loved it, I know I did. If you didn't I can tell you in another post!

Wow, you are brave to work in that environment.

I remember when I was at school there was one lad that v* because he
was too hot. We'd just done PE and the school rang his mum, and
she told the school not to worry, "he often v* if he gets too
hot". There was this other girl who used to v* right before
lunch, EVERY day, she'd cry if she was made to eat, and make such a
song and dance out of the whole issue. These weren't young kids,
either. There are SO many reasons why people v*, especially kids.

I'm sure you'll be fine. Don't worry.

Thank you guys so much. I saw both of the kids today, and I wasn't even
worried. They were both joking around with me, being teenage boys and
being silly (yet evil at the same time). So I think I am okay... knock
on wood... The secretary was better, but now one of the other teachers
has "it" which was described as "thinking it was just n* from postnasal
drip" to "a bug that makes you wanna v*". hmmm The teacher who got it
though is at her last nerve, so it may not even be a sv*. It may be
stress, I think she put in her 2 weeks notice.

Anyway, YES I was in bed early - in bed by 11 at the latest these days.. Have to be up at 7:00 YUCK.

Wish me luck guys. I appreciate your care
