I feel so ashamed of myself. This past week my son has been really sick
and all of the congestion and drainage in his nose throat caused him to
get sick the other day. He was coughing, gagging and choking and then
eventually he just did. He's only 2 and I RAN AWAY! I held my ears and
took off like a bullet. My husband is so good dealing with him being
sick but I can't handle it! And now everytime he gets into a coughing
or choking spell, I simply run because it's so hard for me to handle
and I'm so afraid he's going to be sick. I feel like the most horrible
mother and sometimes the things my husband says like, "He's your
son!" "You shouldn't run out on him when he's sick!" makes me
feel so low, like I'm an inch tall. Oh I just feel so horrible about
all of this that I could cry.

*hugs* I am sorry you are going through such a tough time. Think of it this way, if your husband had a real fear of blood and fainted anytime he saw it would it make sense for him to take care of your son when he grazes his knee or something. No probably not. Your phobia is no less valid than that. You are not a horrible mum. My aunt can't deal with my cousins runny nose and he knows that he has to wipe it or go to his dad, thats how it is. That doesn't damage him it's just how it is LOL You are there for your son in so many other ways that will really count. Hope you and your son feel better soon.

Be courageous, believe in yourself, and be the best woman you can be. I'm with you all the way.

hippychick made a very good point. I made a deal with my hubby that when we have kids he will be in charge of all v* and I will take care of blood and poop lol!

Its a pretty good deal for him because I'm sure there will be LOTS more blood and poo than v*. I know he will keep up his end of the bargain...he already does with our dogs.

Cute dog by the way! Labs are the best. I have always had a lab my whole life. My current lab is a lack lab named Gus.
