    Hi everyone,

Just a quick question, I have been taking paroxetine for 1 month, but
have had a constant headache since the second day, and the nausea and
panic attacks have not really decreased so I am wanting to come off
it. Looking at some articles on the web it looks like coming off
it is going to be easier said than done, some of the withdrawel
symptoms sound terrifying, so my question was have any of you had to
come of it, and did you experience any syptoms?

    Thanks everyone

    B

The doctor has to ween you off of it. If you just stop taking it, you will experience those symptoms. So just make sure you do what your doctor says and you will be fine.

Talk to your doctor before going off it, it may be that the side effects might still go away. If you go off of it, wean slowly. I weaned off of 40 mg in about a year (I probably could have gone faster, but I was scared). I have very few withdrawal effects, only slight dizziness here and there after dropping my dose. But talk to your doc before doing anything.

It takes 6-8 weeks for it to work. I would hang in there otherwise call your doctor and tell him. He will direct you in the right direction.

I am on Zoloft and it took a GOOD 8 weeks if not 10 weeks for me to really feel a difference.

That's true. It's probably going to take longer to work.

I do what kel said, and you just take your dosage down by 5 mg slowly week by week. I didn't have withdrawal symptoms.

I'm in the camp of TALKING TO YOUR DOCTOR. NOT getting advice from people over the internet! That can be dangerous. No one here knows your body, any other medical conditions, or how you "seem" in a personal examination. PLEASE talk everything over carefully with a fully qualified health-care professional.

I had to ween off of Paxil. Only took half of it for a few weeks, then took half of a half for another fewweeks. Iw ent through Terrible Withdrawl symptoms. I guess everyones body works differently, so maybe your symptoms wont be as bad since you have not been on it that long. However...your body may still be adjusting to the medication if you feel that it has not worked yet. Being on it for only month really isnt long enough to determine if it will work for you or not. Im not an expert or anything. But I felt the same way after a month, and my doctor told me to give it time, And sure it enough it started to work wonders.

The only thing I can remeber about thw withdrawl symptoms were that I felt really out of it and dizzy...I had this weird sensation in my head...I cant really describe it.

But in all seriousness....Talk to your doctor about how your feeling. Your doctor will know what is best for you..
