This is for everyone that takes anti depressants. How do they make you feel? I get very very depressed off and on but i pretty much never feel that over all feeling of being okay. Arent you supposed to feel okay and then bad if something bad happens? My husband and i are pretty much going through a hard time in our relationship and i'd like to be able to give it my all and at least not fall completely apart if it ends. Will anti depressants make me have that okay feeling every day unless something bad happens? Also...how do i go about asking for them? Thanks!

I cannot tell you what a difference anti-depressants have made in my life. I was a miserable person and didn't realize it. Being "happy" was an unusual occurence. I was angry all the time and little things. Anti-depressants made me not angry at dumb things and actually feel happy. Of course, I could still get upset when it was appropriate, but I wasn't sad/mad all the time. I love the way the meds made me feel. As far as asking for them. I went to my doctor and told him I was in counseling (which is true) and that she had recommended I get on anti-depressants. The doctor did his own little evaluation and prescibed them to me. He also prescribed phenergran to make sure I didn't get the dreaded side effect of v*. It was a great experience for me. Just talk to your doctor. Most doctors are pretty aware and understanding of these issues.
