a girl i work with was off today, she said she was v*ing. At least she had the decency to stay off work lol. If she is back tomorrow, how contagious do you think she will be, assuming it was an sv (it could have been something she ate, I don't know). I teach PE and so at least i wont be sat at a desk near her all day, but will be in the same room for over 2 hours. is it possible to catch these things through the air the day aftre someone has been ill

I believe a person who is sick with a sv is contagious for up to 72 hours after they last v*. I would simply be careful, wash those hands and don't touch your face. You should be fine.
