After my last few therapy sessions, I've felt anxiety on the way home. I can usually snap out of it within 5 minutes of getting home. Is this normal, and it is maybe a result of switching therapists? This just started happening about a month or so ago, when I found out myold therapist was leaving. I had my first full session with the new therapist today. We spent a lot of time going over my history, and all the facets of the disorder. She seems nice and understanding, and she's not condescending (one of the traits I hate most in therapists).

Still working on the stick man, things are going okay. I"m almost ready to move up and imagine he's a real guy.Edited by: kel12347

this is normal! and it's a helpful sign. anxiety like this is indicative of growth.

but if it gets to the point of "overwhelming" be sure to let your therapist know. in fact, tell her how you felt after session at the next session and maybe you two can talk through that.

good luck with mr. s(t)ick man!

Thanks Sage! It's encouraging to know that my anxiety actually means something good here. I'll be sure to bring it up with my therapist. She was asking me during the session if I felt comfortable, or anxious or what. I wasn't anxious, but just said I needed to developa rapport with her, which is true. The anxiety starts on the way home.

My boyfriend and I refer to the stick man as "The UnaVOMer" or "Vom-Man"....and I actually think the titles are funny. That's a good thing too, I think!
