Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all as well as you can be, just a quick question, my
doctor has just put me on Paroxetine for my panic attacks and
depression. I was wondering if anyone had any experience of them
because so far they are making me feel really ill, I really feel like I
should persevere with them though, just hope it gets better quick! So any advice/experiences would be gratefully recieved, feel free to PM.

I took Paroxetine for several years. The only side effect I had when going on it was that I was very tired for a few weeks. The most important thing to remember about this med is not to skip a dose, and when you're ready to go of it, take it very slowly. The withdrawal syndrome can cause n* and v* in some people. I tapered down over one year, and had very few side effects. Just a little dizziness here and there. As for making sure you're taking it every day, I stayed at my b/f's house for a few days and forgot my Paxil. By the second day, I was super dizzy, I couldn't walk without holding onto somethng to hold me up, and I had absolutely no appetite. So just make sure to take 'em every day. Paroxetine worked pretty well for me, hopefully it will work for you, too.

As I said in my PM to littlebebe, I have taken this drug for several years and it has literally saved my life too, kats. My life was so very restricted before I took this medication through emet, agoraphobia, anxiety and depression, but now I can do so much morewithout getting myself worked up over things. It has been brilliant - turned my life right around for the better and enabled me to become a much more confident person.

I experienced a little queasiness/nausea when I first took Paroxetine (for a few days to a week I think) but as my body got used to the meds that stopped.

Kel, if I don't takemy tabletsfor a day or two, I feel absolutely fine - no side-effects whatsoever, so I guess it just depends - people react differently to things.

Oh yes, definitely persevere. I had to persevere because I was so afraid of medications, but I thank God I did continue to take these pills because they have helped me live a fuller life.

Hello! I was on this medication for a while, and when I first started taking it, it made me very sick. But after about 2 weeks you should feel better. IT takes time to get use to.

If i missed a few days I felt horrible. I guesss everyone reacts differently. IT was defiantely hard getting off of it though. I went through very bad withdrawl from it when I stopped taking it. Although I want to get back on it.

I hope it works out good for you

Just thought i would update, today is a good day, im not feeling really
nauseas like i have been, still have a bit of a headache, but that
could be unrelated, dont think it has had any effect on the anxiety
yet, still not feeling like going out and doing anything, hopefully
that will come in the next couple of weeks, i really hope so anyway.

I was just about to post and ask how you are getting on! Glad to hear you are feeling better, you will probably start to feel like doing more in a couple of weeks, like you say. Eventually the nausea will disappear all together, and if the headaches are due to the tablets, they should ease off too.

Hope you go from strength to strength )

I also take that one. I was feeling ill for the first while, but I really think it was b/c they told me I might. PERSERVER!!!!!! Wait, it will be so much help int he long run. In the meantime, know it will get better every day. YOU CAN DO IT!
