Well I had (and still have the end of) a really horrible cold all last
week. I posted about it in the Experiences board, but basically I laid
on the couch, barely ate anything, and just slept for an entire week.
Now today, my period started.. but it is two weeks early o.o;; my mom
says this is due to the fact that I barely ate and slept (and I'm
assuming also because I was stressed over being sick), and that it may
not be a real period, it may be "spotting" which I have never had
before. She says it is normal though and she has had it happen, but
that I do need to eat better. I don't have cramps like I normally do..
I was just wondering, IS this normal after being sick for a week? or do
you think something is wrong? In April I think my period was 2 weeks
late after starting to rigorously work out in the track team, so I know
mine has changed before.. it has never been this early though. Has this
    happened to anyone else before?

I've had this happen to me when I've been ill or had a particularly bad bout of stress. Many other things caneffect your periods too like not eating properly or taking too much exercise. Your mom is certainly right about needing to eat properly - a poor diet will effect your periods.

So try not to worry, your irregular period has happened for a natural reason. Hope you manage to get rid of your cold soon!
