I had a cold a few weeks ago and I think it relapsed. The cold wasn't
too bad, I just felt sick for a few days, but then I was really busy
after I got better so I think I relapsed on monday. Except this time I
Only got a horrible cough that was like congested and a headache. I
think I am finally getting better, I've been taking cough medicine
since yesterday when we bought it and that makes me feel so much
better. and this is the first day I have had no headache (the headache
seemed to be from lack of sleep/eating). I just worry though... I feel
fine when I'm sitting (except for the cough), but when I stand.. the
headache hits me very hard for about a minute. I also feel incredible
dizzy. The headache seems to go away after a minute or 2, but I feel
dizzy for about 10 (or until I lie down, then it's like I'm cured and I
feel FINE again). Last night when I was going through my bedtime
routine and did the most standing I did all day, my head was throbbing,
I was sweating, I was soo dizzy, I was really gassy too, and I went to
the bathroom and it was like half d* sorry for being gross >.>;;
but then as I was walking back to where I sleep, all of a sudden I felt
a lot better (I was still very relieved to be able to lie down again
though). I had this dizzy feeling on tuesday, wed. I was fine (but I
think I was dizzy when I got up around midnight to use the restroom,
but that may have been tired, it probably was actually because I didn't
have the headache or anything). I Think I was fine on thursday, friday
I was like this all day, and today I was fine in the morning, but then
an hr ago I got up and had the headache/diziness >.> The only
thing I did differently was this morning I got up slower, and drank a
lot of water before getting up.. I've been pretty much lying down all
week (I had to go out and do school stuff on wed. and thursday though),
Do you think when I stand I am just disoriented from lying on my back
or sides all day? So when I stand up occassionally and faster, I get
dizzy because everything in my body has to move? like the things in my
stomache have to move to be vertical instead of horizontal, and I guess
the brain probably does a bit too, and the blood.. or do you think it's
something more serious? Since I Was feeling better today except for an
hour ago, I don't think I have to see a doctor (it may have just
affected me then because it was the night too, things tend to get worse
at night..). I am just so scared I get worse and do have to see a
doctor.. I don't think I have seen a doctor over sickness for 8 or 9
years V_V Maybe it is also from eating very little while sick? I
finally started to eat more yesterday. And I have been waking up every
few hours when I try to sleep, from coughing attacks, so maybe I'm just
tired? Has Anyone gone through a cold like this before? It's really
annoying, since I do feel pretty fine unless I'm walking. And my
college starts on monday, do you know how I can be ok to walk by then?
Please help.

Sounds like you have some congestion in your ears. It can cause vertigo (spinning-dizziness) because your drainage is backing up in your eustacian tubes. I am assuming your headache is a sinus headache too. You said you had a cold so try some sudafed decongestantsand that should help with your headaches and dizziness. If you have bad seasonal allergies, you should take an antihistimine plus decongestant...which will also help with the dizziness.

I have been experiencing the vertigo now for almost a month. I went to the doc and they checked everything and found that my ears had fluid inthem from my allergies. My doc told me he sees this type of thing quite often.

Ever since I started take allergy meds, I have been fine; although some mornings I still get a little dizzy if I sit up to fast and my medicine just happens to be wearing off at the time.

I can usually feel ear stuffiness (and popping) in my ears when I get these dizzy spells. I am sure you are fine!! Keep us posted! Charlotte

I was going to say the same thing...it sounds like your ears are congested. I would see a doctor.

Yep, defo sinus trouble, It occurs after a virus and mucus builds up in your ears and behind your nose hence the headache and dizzy spells. Get some sudafed from your chemist or any best selling decongestant, also how about breathing in a hot salt water solution with a towel over your head to break up the mucus? it works honest. avoid dairy produce until symptoms subside as it makes the congestion worse.

The cough medicine I started taking works to get rid of coughing and
chest congestion.. today I'm actually a LOT better and less dizzy (and
I haven't had a headache all day!). I do occasionally feel my ears
being stuffy though.. The
only time I was dizzy today was an hr ago when I took a shower.. After
standing for awhile in the shower my throat got really dry and then I
got dizzy >.>;; the dry throat thing was weird, but I'm sitting
down and drinking water so it seems to be better.. do you guys think
the cough/congestion medicine will help with congestion everywhere? It
seems to be.. at least I'm not getting worse, I'm so scared I would
pass out or come down with pnemonia or something.

Yes, the meds will help with any type of congestion you have. Heck, decongestants will stop any mucous secreting organs from secreting mucous...even your vagina. (lol...sorry, but true)

Sounds like you are doing better! Charlotte
