I've been having dull pains in my stomach area and my upperright side. It hurts when I'm hungry and it hurts after eating. I feel nauseous whilst eating and after, even before sometimes! The nausea goes away after chewing gum but i'm chewing more than I'm eating these days. I get really scared when I get nauseous because i'm scared i'll be forcing myself to eat when my body doesn't want it and I might throw up. I'm thinking it might be my gallbladder... has anyone have gallbladder problems so I can compare my symptoms with them? I'm scared because if it is then I know that throwing up can be a symptom! I've been like this for nearly 2 months..... everyday I think 'is this the day it'll actually happen?' because I feel sick so much. Something is going on in my stomach and I really don't know what!

It does sound like your gallbladder. I had mine removed about 6 years ago. I experienced the pain in the upper right side of my body and the nausea. I would go to your doctor because if it goes untreated, you could develop pancreatitius, which happened to me, and then you will get much sicker. The surgery for the gallbladder is very routine. Let us know how you are feeling.

I have gone to the doctor and I'm waiting for an endoscopy to be done... I don't know whether that test can determine if there is anything up with my gall bladder...

I don't have extreme pain but a shrap dull burning pain. Its not unbearable but not comfortable at the same time. Did you guys have pain on the left side of your stomach aswell? My pain isnt just concentrated on the right of my stomach.

I've just turned 22, very slim and don't think it I have gallstones. I hardly eat fatty foods as it makes me feel sick usually.

I've already been on medication because my doctor tested me for H'pylori which I was positive for.He thought that that was the cause of my problems (stomach inflammation) as I was suffering from symptoms of gastritis but only recently has the pain been more concentrated more towards the right of my stomach ( I thought it was my duodenum).

So none of you suffered pain in your actual stomach, just on the right side. just under the ribs?

    Hi Helgio,

I actually get that quite a lot and had it really bad earlier this year when i was eating next to nothing. I thought i had an ulcer through not eating but was re assured that it was down to my tummy producing too much acid as i was literally starving myself where my emet had got so bad. I felt sick if i did eat anything and felt sick if i didn't. I'm not saying that this is what you are going through but the symptoms sound very similar.

Your endoscopy will pick up if you have an ulcer or any stomach inflammation, i really hope that your appointment comes through soon so you can put your mind at rest.

    Take care

It does sound like gallbladder. It took several gallbladder attacks and several trips to the emergency room for anyone to know what was going on.

I am getting ready to go to work (I'm a RN) I can talk to you later about it. I know I used to v* a lot when I had problems with my gallbladder. I know you should stay away from greasy foods.

When they finally took it out it the painwas different different that day. The pain often "refers" to other areas of your body.

Well I will talk to you later about it if you want. Hang in there!

Oh yea...my mom has had h pylori several times and has horrible stomach issues...but that is a LONG story.

Yeh now I think its my gallbladder and I know people vomit when they have gallbladder problems so its freaking me out! I went to the hospital today, had a blood test done and they said everything was fine. If it was my gallbladder causing me the problems would my blod test be fine?

I'm scheduled in for an ultrasound... I'll have to wait a few weeks for it ...the doctor said I could have a gallstone but i'm so young for it. He also said it could just be my bowels, and my IBS could be causing these problems. But my IBS has never affected my stomach area before, the pain is always much lower down.

There was a period of time I thought I might have had an ulcer but i'm taking medication to reduce stomach acids and so if I *did* have an ulcer it should be healing by now. To tell you all the truth from the beginning of all this my pains were situated more on my left side of my stomach, only recently has it been more on the right. I was thinking well if it was my gallbladder why was I getting pain everywhere else but not where its situated? Then I thought it might have been refered pain back then.

Or maybe I still have H.Pylori!!!!! Theres a number of things it could be and I wish there was another way of finding out instead of having to go through an endoscopy!!!! Life is cruel sometimes...

Well my pains were right in the middle of my stomach and it radiated through to my back....it was very very intense lasting anywhere from 30 mins...to several hours at a time...just excrutiating pain...from moderate to start with to unbearable in the end...i was also 6 mths preg. and ended up going to the emergency room for it...they gave me an antacid for it and it went away...then that was in April and May...then in around August/september....it started again and went to the er again...they did an ultrasound and found all the gall stones then...I was 23 yrs old then....they were surprised b/c they say it usually doesn't happen to younger people......but it did....so if they do an ultrasound...they are bound to find out what your problem is.....i wish you luck...and if it is your gallbladder...you will feel so much better after they take it out.....let us know whay you find out...Kate

I read that pregnant woman are more at risk to get gallstones, thats probbably why you had them...

my pain like pulsates and stays for about 20 mins and then kinda dies down. But sometimes I eat and I get pain and sometimes I don't. Like I ate something little an hour ago and haven't had pain yet... ITS SO STRANGE!

^ Sounds like gallstones, helgio! My Dad recently had his gallbladder removed because of them, and he had the same symptoms as you. I don't think he v*'d, though, even though his had gotten to a really advanced stage. Just terrible stomach pains and d* and awful indigestion/burping, etc. He mainly ended up with pain after eating something greasy, or fatty, or really strong. Rich meat, I think, was what sent him to the emergency room the last time, before he had it out.

So until you find out for sure, try to stick with simple, plainfoods - vegetables and carbohydrates, maybe? Try not to worry gallstones are very common, and it doesn't mean you're going to v*, if it turns out you have them. My advice though: get something done about them as soon as possible, if it turns out you have them - if left alone, they can get to a really bad, uncomfortable state.

Keyhole surgery, I think, is a great way to go.

PS. on an unrelated note...I get dull pains under my ribs sometimes...but I know thats from my posture! I tend to sit very slumped over when I'm using the computer! So for other emets with random stomach pains - don't always assume the worst. It could be something totally silly, like how you're sitting!

I have new symptoms to add to my neverending list. I have had pain in the middle of my back now for two days and today i felt a sharp pain on the miy right side radiating to my shoulder. That worried me as I know that is a symptom of Gall stones. My nausea is still there and I'm confused to what i should eat and do. I went to the Hospital and the took some blood and reported that everything lookrf fine and I wasn't sick enough to be admitted. I have to wait for an ultrasound to be done. Until then I'm scared as now the symptoms are much worse and I feel that i'm definitely going to throw up because thats the one thing out of all the symptoms I haven't got (apart from like jaundice, dark urine etc). Tell me, all of you that have have gallstones, how long did you suffer with the pain until you were treated, and did you all throw up or was it just the nausea. I don't want to be sick ...
