    anyway i will retype it

i started an internship yesterday at school for behaviorally disordered kids.
aka really really really bad kids. yesterday wa good bc there were no kids, just
orientation for the staff. today was the first day

there is a holding room for kids who get out of control and cant be in their
classes, like if they getinto a fight or something. this kid cj got put in there
today for god knows what and pissed in the corner, and spit everywhere. 5 kids
wound up in there today... let me remind you first day of school.

me and courtney, the school counselor, went into a class to releive a TA and
i couldnt blieve what i saw,. these kids were all in 9th grade. this one kid
didnt like what the teacher was taling about so he stood up and screameed "I
CANT F*EN TAKE YOU YOU F*EN FAT B*TCH" and walked out. this poor teacher took SO
much abuse from these kids. no one listened. it was like nothign ive ever seen
befroe. you regular teachers ARE SO LUCKY.

i was sent upstairs to help with the little kids class. all 7 and 8 year
olds, on the third or second grade leevl. these two kids couldnt have been over
50 lbs. one slaps one upside the head, the other slaps him back. at least 5
fights in the hour i was up there. teachers restraining kids, kids screamong
running around. this one little boy, not more than 3 ft tall 50 lbs 7 years old
says to antoher boy "im gonna punch you in the balls" i almost lost it. didnt
    expect that out of him.

so while i was up there i was helping these two kids edwin and matthew write
their assignments. anyway, after i left i talked to courtney and she said that
edwin is infamously known to make him self v* on command. if he doesnt want to
do soething, if someone makes fun of him, etc etc. this is bad. hes new to the
school, so courtney only knew from what his social worker and other schools
said. so im definitly goig to come across v*, and it may be often.

also, courtney the girl who im following while im interning is preggo, so
very n*. but that doesnt bother me because shes preggo.

anyway, just thoguht i would share my day and i have to do it again tomorrow.
fun fun. sorry for my typing mistakes and thanks for reading if you got this
    far,

    becky

It's so annoying when you post something that's taken ages to write and it goes off into cyberville somewhere never to be seen again!

My gawd, what a day you had! I guess it would be a shock to anyone's system seeing that stuff when you aren't used to it. I know a bit about what it's like working in such places as my ex-boyfriend had to work ina similar place for a few weeks and came back with all the stories. You just can't believe how awful these kids treat and speak to the teachers. Having said that though it must be rewarding work when you get through to a kid with bad problems and can see that you have made a difference to his/her life. I so admire you for doing what you are doing.

Eeek, the kid that v*s on command, that would put the willlies up me big time. I can't think of an easy solution to that one, apart from confiding in fellow staff about your phobia so they can deal with it rather than you, when and if it happens.

Anyway good luck with it all! I'm sure you'll have many a tale to tell at the end of the day )
