I want to be able to sleep tonight, but I am so scared of waking up sick. I hate this, I go through this everytime. Heck, Im scared of getting sick anytime my children are sick, but most scared when it comes time to go to sleep. So .............. here is my question, is there seriously anything I can do to prevent it? Anything I can take?

I hate to be the one to say it, but IF it was a sv, and you have already "caught" it, chances are you won't be able to stop it. HOWEVER, maybe try to boost your immune system with a huge dose of vit C or echinacea. A motion sickness pill might help to, at least calm your nerves and knock you out! I hope it all turns out ok

would it also be wise to take OJ (as a form of vit C) to boost the immune system if you are already feeling sick?

and yea jenny, im feeling the same right now - but we will getthrough it fineim sure seems the coughing up err.. sn*t (man, i need to learn how to spell the real word , this one looks so bad ) has stoped, and i just have a seriously runny nose and random coughing - so i think im getting better

Sooooo, my awesome tactic for you jenny, is do what i do

stay awake as long as you can, doing anything that keeps ya mind of it - till your about ot fall a sleep in ya chair, lay down on the couch and put on the tv and close ya eyes.. normaly you will fall a sleep within 5 mins due to being so over tired.

i have no idea what a phenagren is, but if its a perspected drug, i wouldnt if i was you matey - if you are feeling ill, and you cant sleep, stop trying to sleep

just try and relax, when your laying in bed, your mind starts to wonder, and of course its going to wonder to whats bothering you the most, waking up and v"ing - try and stay up for an hour or two, doing hosue work or messing around on the computer, try and relax and become tired - you will soon fall a sleep, only thinking "man am i tired" - and you will wake up tomorrow feeling great, maybe a bit tired - if you are feeling like your going to "wake up sick", have a bucket next to ya bed - and have a clear run way for the toilet, if you are going to v", you will no doubtly wake up and have your tactical plan of escape route to go by. most people that V" in there bed are children, that when they wake up feeling ill, are not sure whats going on - and why they are feeilng this why, so they dont know they are about to v" (or at least, thats what i gathered from my 7 year old brother from the last two times he's V"ed in his bed. and thus.. over all.. if any of this makes sense (im tired, so prob not) if your going to v", it wont be in your bed, it will be in a bucket or toilet, which are less troublesome in my point of view, try and relax - and get your mind off it !

(if any of this information was not helpfull, please say, so i dont try giving bad advice again :S - im just posting my tactics, and you may find them disturbing or not helpfull, which is highly possable)

i agree, if you try to keep yourself up, eventually youll get so tired
you cant not fall asleep, and youll wake up in the morning very
relieved. i always prop up my pillows in my bed, put the tv on, the
bathroom light on, and sip on water. it works like a charm

I agree with Crystal Leigh. I know how you feel. When I went to bed the nights after Tyler was sick I was thinking the same thing. I didn't catch it, caught some thing else..... go figure.
You need your sleep Leigh, try to get some rest ok.
    Thinking of you.

I did manage to get some sleep last night!!!!

I left the tv on and a night light, and I set the alarm to wake me up every so often, but I made it through.

I do the same thing, the nights after and during an sv* are the worst! My kids just started back at school and I am SO nervous! The summer went by in a haze. I feel like I spend months waiting for summer(no school, no germs)and now it's over. I'm feeling very depressed.
