Well, as some of you remember, about a week and a half ago I was really sick with a kidney infection. Well, I went to the doctors today, cause I was still having a low grade fever, and some kidney pain, and it turns out that I still have the infection. It barely went away. I now have to take Amoxicillin 500mg 3 times a day. The doctor thinks I might have a strep/staph combo infection. I am so sick of being sick. I am also nervous to take the meds. I have been a amoxi before, but I can't remeber how it affected me. So, I am just asking for your prayers, and thoughts, cause I have to go back to the doctors on Friday, and if there is no improvment, I may have to be hospitalized. I am very nervous. But, it was a good thing I went today, cause another day or two I would of defenitly been in the hospital.

Amoxicillin is almost always fine. I took it almost constantly for about 3 months when I had recurring dental abceses. I took the medicine version, which is what they give kids so it can't be too bad of a brand (amoxicillin in general) or else they wouldn't give it to kids. Also, just remember the pain and illness you were going though when it was really bad before you got to see your doctor the first time, you don't want to have to be back there agin I'm sure.

I'm surprised they're not giving you anything stronger than amoxicillin, esp. if the infection is just hanging on. I'm sorry you're sick... I was hoping your surgery would take care of all your kidney stuff. Hugs to you, I'll be thinking of you.

Don't worry about the amoxicillin. I haven't taken it since I was a
little kid because I found out that I'm allergic to it, but even with the allergy it didn't make me sick to my stomach.

I hope that you feel better. You've been through so much, I can relate to the feeling of "when is it gonna stop." I was sick for a very long time and finally I'm just about over my intestinal infection (which landed me in and out of the hospital for 7 months), so i understand where you are coming from. Keep us posted on how you are doing.
