Now something is up with my mother in law. While we were at her house this evening, she got sick, yep, she v'd. I know that she hasnt felt good all week. She went to see a cardiologist today too. She thinks that she may have had a heart attack last week. Her left arm is still feeling funny and she said she has just felt weak ever since last week. She said it has been all she can do to go to work this week. I know she hasnt eaten much, if at all today. She had to take some meds while at the cardio docs today. She said that she didnt feel nauseous til just before she got sick. This would have been four/five hours after she took all that med. at the docs. She said she just got to feeling gasey and took some Emetrol, and she v'd after she took the Emetrol. She swears that whatever made her sick is not an SV. She said she hasnt felt right all week, since the chest pain incident. She ate before I left her house just a little while ago, and she was fine after that, I just dont know what to think. I just hate this phobia. Why does there have to be such a thing as nausea and vomiting?

Well, why does there have to be such a thing like Cancer? Poverty? Narcotics? I agree with you, Jenny, and I've asked myself the same thing: Vomiting - couldn't there have been a simpler way? As always I'm greeted by silence, however vomiting was not something to feared in the first place. I wouldn't worry too much about your mother-in-law; most likely the medication did not agree. Nothing to concern you or anything contagious.

Yeah I totally understand. But Imagine if you lived in Roman times when they had a vomitorium, people would go there after eating and just THROW UP so they could eat more food! Today I was in the car with my dad and he coughed really loud and I freaked out and I totally thought he was going to V but of course he didn't, he hasn't been sick in years. But there I was, my heart was pounding, and I started shaking...it was terrible. I hope yourmother-in-law feels better.

If she ate and was fine she probably isn't sick. If she has a sv she wouldn't have been able to eat that soon. My mil has heart trouble and diabetes and takes so many medications that she does this a lot.

Did she go to the dr. though? Because n* and v* can be signs of a heart attack.

Perhaps the emetrol made her sick because it reacted with the stuff she took at the docs?

I talked to my ma in law a few minutes ago, and she said she was fine ................. well fine in the nausea/vomiting dept. anyway. She still hasnt felt right since this little cardiac episode she had about a week ago. I dont think she ate at all yesterday, and she took that madicine about 3 pm, I just figured if it was gonna make her sick, it would have done so sooner than it did. She was fine after she got sick too. She was sitting out on the porch smoking a cigarrette, and talking to me and my hubbys aunt. She even ate a piece of pizza before I left and didnt get sick.

I have finally decided my in-laws are whacked!!!! I am not very happy with her right now. Yes, she smokes, she is 51 yrs old. Everyone in her family just about has heart problems, she does not take good enough care of herself, something like this was bound to happen. I am not very happy with her right now ................... I think she really is sick with something, but she chose to lie to me about it. (See my other post.)

only 51!! N & V definately sounds cardiac, is she crazy? Crazy as I am I would probably prefer the Heart attack over the N /V
