guys, I don't know if I can deal with loosing another pet.

we had to put our dog down on saturday, she was really old and it was very hard on my family, we had her cremated and plan to burry the remains. So today we had to take our kitty to the vet to have some teeth out. We've been giving him antibiotics all week which is rather tramatizing for him and he gets scared of us afterwards.

he got out today by mistake after his sugery(sp?) and he was still a little dopey and scared. he hasnt been home all evening and Im scared something has happened to him. Its not like him to take off like this for so long, and we've left food out for him which he hasn't touched.

I'm just so worried and I don't know how to cope with this. My pets are my babies. and this is so much to handle all at once!

babydoll... I know how hard this must be for you. I have a little chihuahua who I seriously love like my "human" baby. He is so small and once I let him out back to go potty and I couldnt find him a few minutes later so I thought he slipped throught the fence. I fealt horrible...I could not stop sobbing. The little booger emerged a few minutes later...he decided to go ona journey I guess. I was so happy. Just know that your kitty will come back. He just needs a little "alone time" right now. I hope everything goes okay! Let us know!

I'm so sorry, sending up prayers for him to return safely. Cats can be aloof, especially when they're scared. They're more independent, so chances are still good he'll come back. If he just had surgery he's probably not hungry yet, but he'll come looking for his food when he is!

I'm sorry about your dog, it is like losing a family member.

I'm so sorry about the loss of your dog, I know how difficult and upsetting it is to lose a beloved pet. You are going through a very difficult time at the moment, but rest assure I think your cat will come back before long. Animals, like us,want a bit of peace and quite when they aren't feeling well, and tend to wander off to find a nice quiet spot somewhere. Your cat has, I'm sure, gone for a bit of quiet time whilst he recovers from feeling out of sorts from the anaesthetic, he'll come back home again when he feels better.

Please keep us up to date with things. My thoughts are with you.

thank you guys so much, he did come back this morning, you guys were right. He must have wanted to find some quiet spot untill the drugs wore off.

I'm so glad, its time like this you realize your animals may not be around forever and they become even more special.

thanks for the words, I've been having a hard time since last weekend. I didn't think my dogs death would affect me as much as It did, I'm mostly a rational person so I understand why it has to happen, but with any death it still takes time to get over.

    thanks again!

whew! glad your kitty came back. cats are independent as
said above, they want to be alone when they don't feel good. our
family is exactly the same with our 3 dogs and cat, they are such big
parts of the family. so sorry about the loss of your dog, in time
the memories will be all wonderful and less painful.

About a year and a half ago we had to put my dog down and it was totally sad we had her for about 10 years and she was my baby. I went to the vet with her and everything and said my goodbyes...I still miss her. I understand how hard it is to lose a pet.

About a year or two before that our cat got out of the house. He was an indoor cat but he ran out of the door when we opened it. We thought that he would come back because he had gotten out before. Later that night I heard my mom screaming and she was like hysterical it turns out that the cat got hit by a car on his way home and he was laying dead in the street. I miss him too. I'm glad your kitty is okay and he came back.
