chicken!

so i was supposed to make chicken last night for dinner, but my parents went out with my grandma, so i just made some pasta quickly.


my mom took out the chicken, left it out, i caught it before she left it out to defrost, and let is defrost in the fridge. so she wants me to make it today while she's at work. is it still good? she took it out of the freezer yesturday and it's unthawed and sitting in the fridge. it's still good right?

I would say so. My mom lets meat defrost at room temperature ALL the time. You said this was stuck in the fridge as soon as you noticed so I'd say it's fine. I'm only sixteen and I don't do much cooking so I'd definitely wait until someone else replies before using it, but I'd say it's perfectly fine.

I'm sure it will be fine - my dad sometimes does that too - he leaves it out to kick start the defrosting and then puts it into the fridge. I'm sure that it will be fine to eat

yup it is fine. You can go ahead and cook it. You would no without a doubt if it wasn't. It would smell. That is one thing about chicken it has a rotting smell if is left out oo long. cook it up and enjoy.

I think it is fine. As long as it was kept in some kind of cold enviornment where a bunch of bad bacteria doesn't grow on it, it is probably fine. Now, if it was left at room temperature....big no-no. [img]smileys/smilies_01.gif[/img]
