Hey all,

For those of you with IBS, Im not sure if you have this too, but do you notice if it tends to be worse in the morning? For me, not always, but it seems that the mornings tend to be rougher sometimes, not all the time tho. Like I woke up this morning, and sometimes it feels like someones stabbin me in the intestines, and its just cramps from havin to go, or gas or something, but man it can really hurt sometimes. Im starting college tomorrow, and well, on 2 mornings of the week, I have 3 classes back to back from like 9 till noon or so, and with maybe a 5-10 min break in between. I just hope IBS doesnt get in the way of that or anything. I'll just have to try and go before classes start. Sometimes tho its like you dont have to go, then you really do, and its hard to really time things right. Well, Ive gotten thro in the past, Im sure I can this time.

hmm.... what a dilemma. i dont really know what to suggest, sorry! but, im sure you could leave those classesif absolutely necessary?

other than tht, im sure u may be able to get into the routine of going just before the classes, or within the 10 minute break...

sorry, im not really helping, but i just wanted you to know that i am thinking of you

    Hey Jen,

Thank you for thinkin of me. Your always there, and its nice to know there are people who care out there.

Yeah now Im thinking that wasnt such a good idea to do that with my schedual, I was just thinking at the time I did it that I wouldnt have to be there all day, with college if theres like a hour break between them (pretty much the only other option) then its like Im there all afternoon, and I wanted to keep them all towards the morning so I get the day over with faster.

I have IBS and usually mornings are okay because i don't eat untill noontime. maybe you could try just eating really light, like toast or something, then having lunch when your classes are done at noon? I know id rather be hungry for a few hours than miss class and be on the crapper. lol.

IBS is Irritable Bowel Syndrome, basically where your intestines kinda get a mind of their own, and do what they want when they want. Frequently sufferers get abdominal cramps, runs and/or constipation, gas, bloating and general discomfort in the abdominal region dealing with the intestines. Its not fun to have obviously, and having IBS and emet can be difficult, because we tend to panic about things related to our digestive tracts.

    Hi Galadriel,

I have IBS too and I always get it worse in the morning. As soon as I wake up I have to run to the loo, then my stomach will be all bloated afterwards, with really bad cramping. It usually goes away after about 1 hour, then I don't get another attack of the runs until night time, but then it's just the once and sometimes without the pain.

All throughout the day I get really horrible noises coming from my stomach and in the morning I will have a flat stomach and by the time I go to bed I look about 6 months pregnant!!

IBS is a nightmare and I wouldn't wish it on anyone!

I tend to find mine is most unpredictable in the
evening. Its fine till I put some food in it!! Have any of
you with IBS been weird with food at one time or another? I have
a kind of theory that if you stop eating properly for any length of
time then perhaps your gut has problems working when you start feeding
it properly again. Just a thought as I had trouble eating for
about 4 months about 4 years ago and have suffered with IBS since.</font>

You know Rachel I have always wondered that, about 10 years ago I had a severe attack, I was sure that evening was going to be the night, it was one of the worst spells I had ever had, and to top it off I had eaten chicken which being the classic emet I am , I was damned sure I had taken the plungein theSalmo pool. This attack lasted me 2 days, I was miserable, and during that 2 days I didn't eat, when I finally started to eat again everytime I ate I had an attack, until finally it got till I was eating so lightly I lost severe amounts of weight. When I got back on track, I started having the bloating, the cramps, and such, and being the classic emet I was it caused more panic cause i started thinking anytime i had the ummm... er.... well you know fire water out the tail pipe, I jumped to the OH LORDY LORDY Stevie has a stomach bug. ( Sorry I am in a great mood today. ) I honestly believe that my take a bite, there a bite, everywhere a bite bite eating, caused my IBS.

Sorry if I sounded a little goofy, but the wife has rewarded me for being good, and finally taking this thing on, and improving myself, she got me Cleveland Browns Vs Baltimore Ravens tickets....... This is a HUGE thing for me, we went to go back in 2001 and my emet jumped up, and we didn't go. NOT SO THIS TIME!!!! I get to take the wife to something she hates! For once I won't be the one squirming uncomfortably... And the boy gets to go to his first american football game.
