    Hello there everyone!
First of all I want to apologise for making a nuisance of myself on these pages! but something i read in a previous forum about depression got me thinking.
Recently I have not been sleeping well, because for the past couple of weeks I have gone to bed feeling really nauseous for several reasons.
This, in turn keeps me up until the early hours, ie) 5am until the nausea subsides. Once the nausea gos away, I'm left feeling sad and frustrated, and almost as though I have nothing to look forward to. } sob!
I hate this because, this time last year, I felt so cheerful, and positive about myself.
During the days, I have little appetite, and constantly worry about my stomach.
The nausea becomes so bad at nights, that my food repeats on me, and I have panics..i also feel as though I can't "touch" my stomach or put any pressure on it, otherwise it will lead me to throw! Does anyone else experience this? I physically feel as though i cannot touch my tummy, because it's too full or whatever.
I would love to know if anyone else has similar sleeping patterns?
    Thanks, Em.

Um....I guess I have some sort of connection to that. Just a few nights ago, I could not sleep because I was afraid about being sick. I had some kind of feeling in my stomach earlier and I think it was still there. So, anyways, I started seeing visual disturbances. Well, I guess that was what they were. I was kind of concerned because these may have been leading to a migraine. And migraines often cause you to be sick. I didn't have one and found out those weren't the visuals ofa migraine. I have been having pain in my mid-section area for the past few days, but I think I pulled a muscle in my back or sides. I really do not know what nausea feels like because I do not remember how I really felt the last time I had gastroenteritis or food poisoning. God, I am stupid. Well, back on the topic, yes, I do feel like that a little at night sometimes, then I get depressed or sad. Sometimes I feel depressed because of this fear.

I'm sorry that you sometimes have that thing where you can't sleep and get depressed.

    Peace. -LiZZy

I usually feel sick every day and its worse at night. I am usually up til the early hours, and like you said jazz, when the nausea finally goes im left feeling down, depressed and generally deflated... Then the next day i feel like theres no hope... its a vicious circle.
I couldn\'t tell you why she felt that way... she felt it everyday and i couldn\'t help her... i just watched her make the same mistakes again...

that's EXACTLY the routine I seem to follow. i don't think it helps, the fact that we feel generally worse at night, and so by the time the nausea passes, and we are in our state of depression, we're so exhausted that these feelings are magnified.

Nightime is the worst tiem for me. I find sleeping difficult because I am very scared and nervous about it, this makes my IBS and stomach go wild which makes me get nausia and that makes me more scared so my stomach gets wprse etcetc. Its a vicious ciricle and I too know that feeling where you just feel so down and just compleatly out of it. I sometimes dont sleep all night, but usually its till about 4 or 5 am. This usually happens when I am most stressful (which of course adds to my stress) Do you find that this happens more where there is more stress in your life? Theres nothing much I can suggest, but if you cant sleep, dont just lie in bed and toss and turn, cause thats going to get you more agravated. If you cant sleep like 20mins after you go to bed, get up for 10mins and maybe read a magazine and then try again. Its hard to try and see things at night, when you are obviously over tired and need sleep so I'm sure that this doesnt help the nausia either

Yeah evening/night seems to be the worst time for me. I think its cause at night your lying to go to sleep, and your mind is like free to go off thinking about things, then it focuses on the stomach, and then before I know it Im feeling nauseas or something. Ugh! I can't count how many nites I have lost some sleep from feeling nauseas. It does suck, but it seems to be almost a curse of emets. Course the thing that gets me, is I wake up in the morning and am just about always fine.
